Master Blaster/Thraka

It is kinda hard to tell what's going on with the lighting but it will make more sense once it is painted.

I redid the list today as the Makk Tanker Trukk is just going to be too big to count as a Trukk, so I swapped it out for a Wagon and swapped some stuff around so it will fit. I will post the new version soon.

Mad Morks (Mek Gitson)

And featuring the little boomerang kid. The grot's pointy arm has since been replaced. I thought I was out of grot arms but I found a better pointy one by chance among my gallon of bits.

Morks' head has changed about five times since I made his body, but I think this is the one. It's been hard to find a head that would A. look good with hair and B. be the right scale to the body. Most have been either too small or too big.

The Display Begins...

This is the start to the display. It's 3'x2' and being built into a plastic serving cart. That is the top tray. Actually it isn't plastic like you might think, it's something super heavy, and heavy duty. But anyway, that little thing next to the gallon of Fast n Final is an Ork.

I lucked out and the two different sizes of foam insulation I bought stacks perfectly with the top lip of the tray, so all that they needed was a little spackling around the edges and some sanding. The only downside is I am realizing about a half inch cubed of Fast n Final takes a day or two to dry...

(2/25/11) Adepticon Charity Army

Up this week is a Nurgle Death Guard army. This army is extra exciting because it is a raffle prize at Adepticon! Proceeds go to Child's Play and Susan G Komen. I'll have more details soon!

I finalized the list. For some reason Army Builder still isn't totalling up Nob squads but I did that part by hand.

Looks like a lot less on paper, but its pretty big laid out. There are another 20-30 vehicle riders glued to plain bases to be painted and attached later as well.

Also I am scrapping the hot rod trukk and making a Mack tanker trukk. At this point I feel it is required. :)

Lots of progress on assembly of the Adpticon army. Right now #1 priority is the charity nurgle, then some badly needed cleaning up and organizing (my gaming table is covered and surrounded by sprues and boxes from working on the Ork army) and then I will start posting progress of the Orks. The army itself is 75% assembled and converted. It just needs a couple more buggies, and some cosmetic conversion and sculpting work. The display progress....0%... Waiting on a serving cart I ordered to come in so I can start on that. Instead of lugging it around this year I am going to build it into the cart and wheel it around.

So updates since the last Ork related post:
- Cart ordered
- Ordered more afterthought bits and terrain gubbinz.
- Ordered magnets and WotR movement trays to magnetize the bases of the whole army (so no need for a case this year)
- Armorcast blast effects added to guns and whatnotz
- The Big Trakk now has a custom metal cover thingie loaded up with junk boxes and a dumpster. Ill take a pic of this soon, it came out pretty cool.

One thing I need to do is write a solid list, which I have been meaning to do just no time. For some reason army builder is acting funny when it comes to making Nob squads so I am not sure the exact total.

Anyway, back to work on the Nurgle. They came in late, last Thursday in fact, so update will probably be this weekend.

(2/13/2011) Alpha Level Tyranids

Lots of bugs! This is my first full Nid army, and they were a lot of fun. Very different than painting armor, and the first time in a long while I haven't used metal on something.

Up next is a charity army for Adepticon, and then it's full speed ahead on the Orks. I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but other than gathering supplies the army is on hold while I finish this last project before the convention. The charity army would probably be a two week army but I am going to put in lots of hours and try and do the update early next week, so no weekend update. Goal is Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is a Nurgle army, and the Adepticon staff ordered a lot of nice Forge World kits for it. Also a big thanks to Chaos Mail Order for donating the plastic kits!

Adepticon Update

Battlewagons sans the crew. Im going to put grots all over the place plus tank commanders. These Ork Forge World kits are crazy. Big ol' hunks of resin!

Also, the customer who ordered the Elysians asked for numbers on the wings so I thought I would post one of the pics I sent him.

Well currently without electricity. Tons of ice today and the tree limbs are coated with about half an inch of ice. Posting from my phone - will get an update on the adepticon army up tomorrow.

And hopefully the power will be back on..
