5 Titan Party Part 8

Other than some final washing and priming, all finished!  Now they just need a coat of paint. :)

5 Titan Party Part 7

Second Reaver almost finished.  Just some small parts to attach at this point.  Tomorrow I will be finishing up the fine details over everything and should have an image of everything primed and ready for paint!
 Legs pinned and epoxied.

Test fitting the legs.  I later added more to the base once I figured out the feet's final position.

 Body halves pinned and scuffed.
Tight enough fit there was no need to tie it up.

Body attached to lower hull and waist.

 Waist tubing pinned.
 Setting up for pinning.
 A perfect fit!

This Reaver has multiple weapons, so the entire arm shoulder and gun assemblies had to be magnetized so any gun could go on either side.  There is also a powerfist which has a completely different arm so the arms could not be attached and only magnetized at the "wrist."

The upper shoulder armor this time around magnetizes directly to the 1/2" magnet the arms attach to.

5 Titan Party Part 6

Knocked out one Reaver today.  Its more impressive assembled than I even expected.  This thing is HUGE!

Exploded view of most of the magnetized parts.  The interior and some other items will be painted separate.
The waist with four diagonal pins before the 1/2" magnet.

Waist attached.
The arm is held on by a long wood screw, and then the shoulder armor magnetizes onto the screw.

Blaster epoxy drying.

5 Titan Party Part 5

Warhounds almost finished!  Just need to do the waist magnets and some small touches on the bases.

Exploded view of the magnetized parts.

Setup for the weapon arms.  The phillips head was later sculpted over with putty.

5/16" magnet in the arm.

The Titans were missing the brass etch mesh.  Luckily I had some fitting razorwire lying around.

Some BIG magnets. 1/2" waist and Reaver weapons, 5/16" for Warhound weapons, and 7/64" for armor plating magnets.

Tomorrow - at least one Reaver will be finished! :)

5 Titan Party Part 4

Bath time!

And legs attached to bases.  Using 2-3" wood screws countersunk into the bottom to attach the titans.  Once they are done epoxy will be used to permanently attach the legs.  Although just the screws is feeling pretty solid with about 1" going directly into the feet.

5 Titan Party Part 3

Bases 90% finished! Although it's hard to tell what's going on in the images.

Some big pins.

Thighs assembled.

Here are the legs ready for some feet.

Next update should be lots of big legs on bases.

5 Titan Party Part 2

How to bake a Titan base.

Start with a cut base and roll on some oven bake clay.

 Cut away the excess clay.

Sculpt in the details - in this case cobblestone as a basis for our terrain elements.

Bake on low heat.  215 degrees for 45 minutes.

Despite the low heat, proceed to warp the wood.

Luckily the putty separates easily with a putty spreader.

Cut some more discs.  Cut extras.

Reattach the putty using painted on thin Elmers.

Delicious! Serves 3.

And for an added flavor, the beginnings of the Nurgle Titan base. Using a Battlescape terrain piece.

Until tomorrow!

5 Titan Party Part 1

Hey all,

This is a short (less than a week if all goes to plan) assembly blog of 5 different Titans.  These have a few different themes which I will detail below.

1 Reaver, 2 Warhounds - Knights Haemophage - Part of the existing Traitor Blood Angel army.  These are red and black with a gothic feel.  Using Garden of Morr and similar terrain pieces for the bases.

1 Reaver - Alpha Legion - Along with a Praetor and a few other vehicles, this is traditional Alpha Legion style.  Will be adding very large dragon wings to this as well to add to the theme.

1 Warhound - Nurgle - Greenish tan with nurgle green trim.  The customer requests a base using a GW Battlescape terrain piece.

Boxes of Titans.  Rhino for scale.

Some of the terrain bits I will be using for the Haemophage Titans.  Gardens of Morr and some JR bits as well.

The three Haemophage bases ready to be cured.  They are oven drying putty over 11" wooden discs.  I have already cut the other 2 as well.

More updates tomorrow!

Dark Elf Monsters

Some more images from the recent Dark Elves.

The dragon is really an awesome kit that with the correct paint scheme could be used for any army. Even the "throne" is somewhat generic and could be used for just about anything if painted correctly.

The Lord is a conversion from a second Morathi.  A simple leg resculpt and then bits from the Dragon Lord sprues.
